Modelling of Hot Flow Stress of Duplex Steel in Dependence of Microstructure Using the Rule of Mixture

The ferrite fraction and phase distribution of duplex steels depend strongly on the temperature evolution during hot deformation are correlated to different mechanical behaviors as well cold deformation. Therefore, control microstructure forming is relevant for target-oriented material design. In flow stress modelling forming, influence beyond often neglected. present work, a new method demonstrated also consider grain size in modelling. For this purpose, initial microstructures with fractions were tested compression tests at 1100 °C 0.1 s?1. was analyzed before after it observed that differences vanished tests. Those data used model including rule mixture Hall–Petch relationship extract single-phase curves austenite. Based single phases, combination individual size, conditions calculated concurrent distance behavior discussed.
